What a mask does to a someone?

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."
- Oscar Wilde

A Mask Both Conceals and Reveals. How true is this?

If you could live another identity that is unknown to everyone you know, how will you live it? Will it be very different from how your current life is? Why is that so? Does this mean that how you are living is just how you think others want you to live and that you are living a life based on what others expect you to do?

If you were to be cut of from everyone you know perhaps given a One-way ticket to Mars. What kind of life will you live there? Will you transform yourself from a quiet introvert to a social animal vice versa? Or will you start trying thing you never did before like be a comedian, an actor or maybe a rock star?

If you were to be anonymous to your family and friends, will you tell them how you really feel about them? How you hate certain things they do or how you love certain things that they despise.

What if I say that there is no mask but just a comfort zone we lived in. If we were to move out of our comfort zone and start doing thing without worrying about. Will we be able to live our life better?

Regrets

Let me quote this from wikipedia's definition of regret; "Regret can describe not only the dislike for an action that has been committed, but also, importantly, regret of inaction. Many people find themselves wishing that they had done something in a past situation."

In other words, regret is where if you are able to go back in time you will do everything differently.

So have you ever made a decision and regret afterwards? I'm not talking about those little things like buying the wrong colored t-shirt, choosing the wrong flavour ice-cream or watched a bad movie. I'm talking about bigger things like accepting/quitting a certain job, taking certain course, moving to certain area or maybe joining certain interest group. Things that will change the course of your life.

Well I never did regret any of those thing I did because I know that I were to change any of those thing, I would have lost what I have now. I can't be sure will my life be any better if I did those changes but I'll definitely miss what I have now and I don't want that to happen.

You will only regret with these major decision if you are unhappy with your currently but as for me, I'm very happy with what I have now.

Do You Look for Inner Beauty or Outer Beauty?

People who value inner beauty will face more challenge finding a soul mate compare to those who look for outer beauty.

People who value outer beauty will go to the person they find attracting and try to win their heart. They may fail or they may success. To them it's more like a love at first sight because they will just observe what is obvious and take action.

Where else people who value inner beauty will need more time and effort to understand the other person and only after that will they start to take action. This will also be subject to the other party's acceptance. As those who value inner beauty take more time to take action this made them have less time to move to another target if the current one failed.

Finding the right partner can be a game of trial and error, you will never know if both of you are suitable for each other so you will need to spend time together to understand each other. It's also a game a chance. Some people got it on the first attempt and some people need more.

With these said, people who wants inner beauty will need to spend more time to look for their life partner compare to those who look for outer beauty.
